Video Transcript

“Retirement is interesting when you talk about it to people, because some people are like, "Oh, no," and then there's other people that are like, "Oh, I can't wait to retire." I have to say that we are probably in the middle.”

“You know, it's kind of a little bit of an aha moment. It's like, I got to start thinking about what I really want to do.”

“We recently had started talking to financial advisors that I deal with, and, first, we started talking about building blocks to an effective retirement financial plan, and he brought up annuities. He kind of opened my eyes to what that would provide, which is steady income.”

“Which is nice once you're used to having two incomes. The consistency of an annuity is kind of comforting.”

“I think that we would be using that part of the annuity for our daily expenses as a supplement to Social Security.”

“And that's our goal, is to live off of those two, and then the next part would be the rest of our investments for special things like a trip to Italy.”

“Family has been everything for us. When you start a family, you don't have any idea what you're getting into, but it's what life's all about.”

“My biggest passion is probably them. I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time with the grandkids. My second passion is staying healthy and doing yoga, something I know I can do. Someday, maybe I would invest or be part of a yoga studio. I don't ever plan on totally retiring. I will do something.”

“I like business, and so I will keep my fingers in it some way, shape or form. The next step, I think, will be some kind of consulting, but just less hours and a little bit more golf and play time.”

"I think that every phase in your life, you should embrace that phase because that's all part of you.”

“Get yourself a good foundation and do what you want to do.”
